Saint Paul Episcopal Church is a supporting partner of CROSS Ministries in Seymour. CROSS Food Ministry is a local food and utility assistance, serving the Seymour, tri-county community whose mission is to meet real needs regardless of religious beliefs. CROSS is supported financially by sponsoring churches, community fundraisers, local business, and generous individuals. For over 30 years CROSS has provided food boxes, utility assistance, gas vouchers for doctors appointments, and educational classes. St. Paul Church also participates in their monthly food drives by taking up specific items every month. We also have parishioners who help serve the Seymour community through various programs at Live-It Ministries.
St. Paul Episcopal Church offers support to several ministries of the larger Episcopal Church, including Episcopal Relief and Development, the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee, Grace Point Camp and the United Thank Offering.
On a more local level, we give annual support to the Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic golf tournament, KARM, and the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.
Veterans Outreach: I, Sarah Ferguson (USAF LTC Ret), am serving on the Commission on Veterans Ministry. The Episcopal Church is deepening its commitment to accompany veterans, active-duty service members, and their families with faith, care, and dignity. Our first charge is to recognize all our military families in our parish. If you choose, please identify yourself in our parish directory or contact me at 815-355-2551 or email snursferg@gmail.com
The Rt. Rev. Ann Ritonia, Bishop Suffragan for Armed Forces and Federal Ministries, is asking church leaders and members to think about how they can help with veteran ministries. To learn more, the office is asking people to take a survey.
The survey will help the church learn:
- Who are the veterans and military families in our churches
- What kinds of help are already working well
- Where more help is needed
Your answers will help the church make new programs and find better ways to support veterans and their families.
All members of the Episcopal Church are invited to complete the survey below.
